The moment that you lose your child changes you forever. I always say there’s a line in the sand of my life – my life before I lost Sam and my life after. It’s hard to think of going on when such a big part of you is missing.

One of the biggest things I have used in my grief journey is God’s word. Throughout my journey, the Bible has been a source of comfort, guidance, and peace in my grief.

God’s Word is the ultimate truth. It’s never changing, so we can confidently build our lives on the truths and promises that we find inside.

A Monthly Bible Reading Plan Made Just For You

I know that when you’re in the middle of navigating all the emotions that come after losing your child, it can be hard to know where to even start when it comes to reading the Bible.

That’s why I created a 12-month Bible reading plan specifically for Christian grieving moms – all from a fellow grieving mom.

Each month, you’ll be focusing on a different topic that’s specific to your grief journey. Whether it’s finding healing for your heart, trusting God in your pain, or reminding yourself of the hope we have in Jesus, these scriptures will meet you right where you’re at.

And here’s the best part: this plan is flexible.

Some days are just plain hard and we’re literally just focusing on surviving. So if you miss a day or don’t feel up to reading some days, that’s okay. Just pick up on the next day’s reading.

This plan is meant to be a gentle, daily invitation to spend time with Him.

What You Can Expect from the Monthly Reading Plans

Each of the free monthly Bible reading plan downloads will include:

+A list of daily scriptures for that month’s topic
+A link to a free devotional on that month’s topic
+Study and reflection questions on the month’s topic
+S.O.A.P. journaling pages

The goal is to provide a small but steady stream of God’s truth to fill your heart and mind throughout the month. These plans are meant to bring you comfort, hope, and peace as you navigate your life after loss.

Whether you read in the quiet of the morning or late at night when the house is still, my prayer is that these readings will speak to your heart and remind you that God IS close to the brokenhearted.

How to Use the Bible Reading Plan

Here are a few tips to make the most of your monthly reading plan:

Set a Regular Time to Read
Find a time in your day that works best for you. This could be first thing in the morning, during nap time, or right before bed. Picking a time to dive into these scriptures will set you up for success and help you stay connected to Jesus.

Give Yourself Grace
If you miss a day, please don’t worry about it! The purpose of this plan isn’t to add more to your to-do list, but to give you a resource to draw closer to God in your grief. Feel free to pick up where you left off or go ahead and skip to the next day.

Journaling
Journaling can be a helpful way to process what you’re feeling and what God is speaking to you. I’ve provided you with a S.O.A.P. page that you can use to journal through each scripture. Don’t know what the S.O.A.P. method is? No worries. I have a page in the download explaining this method of studying the scripture.

Let God Carry You
As you read these scriptures, let them remind you that he is strong enough to carry you. And he’s strong enough to lift all the heavy burdens that are on your heart and your mind.

A Year of Healing Through God’s Word

Grief is not a journey that has an end. This grief is something we will carry with us every day until we see our child again. However, Jesus promises that we do not have to walk this road alone. He will be with us every moment on this side of heaven.

My hope is that this 12-month Bible reading plan will be a steady source of encouragement for you as you walk through your grief.
