Sometimes life is just plain hard. When you’re facing a storm in your life, the days are long and the nights are even longer. It’s easy to feel like you’re all alone.
But here’s the truth:
God’s love is…
>>Steadfast
>>Unchanging
>>And with you even in your hardest moments
When the waves of life feel overwhelming and you feel like you’re drowning, His love will become the anchor that keeps you from sinking.
Let’s look at a few ways we can lean into His love during hard times.
God’s Love is Unshakable
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken.” -Isaiah 54:10
When a storm hits your life, everything around you can feel unstable. Like at any moment everything is going to come crashing down on top of you.
In those moments, God’s love is the one thing you can count on.
Think about this:
If God’s love isn’t shaken even when the mountains crumble, then it’s strong enough to walk with you through whatever it is you’re facing.
He’s holding you securely, even when life feels like it’s falling apart.
Take a moment to remind yourself that no matter what you’re facing, His love will be right there with you.
God’s Love Meets You Where You Are
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” -Psalm 34:18
The thing about feeling pain as deep as I did when I lost my son Sam, I could feel it when God met me in my pain. I could feel how close he was to me.
So wherever you’re at in this moment, if it’s crying yourself to sleep at night or silently holding it together for everyone else, God sees you.
He’s not watching your pain at a distance. He’s close, leaning in, ready to comfort you with a peace that only he can give.
When you’re hurting, don’t be afraid to bring your raw, unfiltered feelings to God. He’s not scared of your emotions. He’s not put off by your tears or your questions.
His love is strong enough to handle it all.
God’s Love Strengthens You
“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” -Philippians 4:13
God’s love can provide you with the strength you need to keep going. When you feel like you can’t possibly take another step, His love will be there, ready to strengthen you so you can keep going.
However, there are those times where there is no.way. we can take that step on our own. The storm is to strong. The pain is too deep.
It’s in those moments, that he will lovingly pick you up and carry you through that valley. All the way to the other side – where the sun is shining again.
Lean into Him, not just for comfort but for the strength to move forward, even if it’s just one tiny step at a time.
God’s Love Offers Hope
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” -Psalm 30:5
The pain that comes with grief may feel like it will last forever, but God promises that it will only last for a time. And after that night is over, joy is waiting for you with the dawn of a new day.
The love of God is the foundation of our hope.
+Hope that He’s working even if we can’t see it.
+Hope that He’s writing a good story, even in the middle of our mess.
+Hope that even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
Hold on to hope, even if it feels faint right now. God’s love will carry you through the night into the morning.
Whatever you’re walking through, know this:
You are deeply, unconditionally loved by a God who sees you, who cares for you, and is waiting with his everlasting strength to carry you.
