Heart of the Father Bible Reading Plan

When you’re walking through grief, it’s easy to feel like God is far away. But Psalms 34:18 tell us that “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

And I’ve found this verse to be true in my own grief journey. I’ve never felt God closer to me than I did after I lost Sam.

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
-Psalm 145:18

Heart of the Father Bible Reading Plan

You Are Not Alone in Your Grief

Isn’t it great to know that you don’t have to walk this road of grief alone. Jesus is with you every step. He never grows weary and is strong enough to carry you through. Every wave of grief, all the big emotions you’ll feel, all the difficult situations you have to face – he’s right there with you.

Here are a few tips to help you in your grief:

1-Know that God is Compassionate Towards You: God is compassionate. He sees you and understands the deep pain of losing a child. You see, he lost his only son, and that sacrifice has given us the greatest gift we can ever have as a grieving mom: HOPE

2-Find Strength in His Faithfulness: Discuss how the plan reassures grieving mothers of God’s unwavering faithfulness. Highlight verses that remind them that God remains steadfast, even in their darkest moments.

3-Experience Healing Through The Strength of His Love: When you lose your child, it completely shatters your heart. The only way that your heart will ever become whole again is through God’s love. He’ll pick up every piece of your heart and put it back together again.

4-Connect with God’s Promises: In grief there are so many things that are uncertain. To have something that we can confidently build our lives on knowing it will never change is priceless. God’s word is never changing and the promises inside it is something we can cling to in our grief.

5-Find a Supportive Community: Grief can be so lonely. We know that God is with us, but having someone here that we can share our journey with is so helpful.
