When life falls apart and grief feels like it will swallow you whole, it’s easy to wonder if God has forgotten you. The pain of losing a child can shake even the deepest faith, leaving you questioning whether you can trust God.

But the Bible reminds us over and over again that God’s faithfulness is unshakable. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is steady, reliable, and always present, even when our hearts are shattered.

This month’s theme, “God’s Faithfulness,” is an invitation to rest in His unchanging love and promises. Each verse in this July Bible reading plan points to a God who keeps His word, carries His children through every storm, and never turns His back on them.

As you walk through this month’s readings, allow these scriptures to remind you that God is not just faithful to others. He is faithful to you, right here, in the middle of your grief.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
– Hebrews 10:23

A Prayer for July:

Jesus, when my heart feels uncertain and my grief feels heavy, remind me that You are faithful and unchanging. Help me trust Your promises, even when I can’t see how they will come to pass. Thank You for being my steady foundation and my source of hope.
Amen.

God’s Faithfulness in July

When all you see and feel is your grief, it can be hard to see how God is still at work. But His faithfulness never changes, even when everything else feels uncertain.

If you’re struggling to hold on to hope, these 5 simple practices can help you remember that God has been faithful before and will be faithful again.

1. Start a “Faithfulness Journal”

Write down moments, big or small, where you’ve seen God’s hand in your life – answered prayers, encouragement from others, or unexpected blessings.

2. Create a Scripture Reminder

Pick one verse about God’s faithfulness (like Lamentations 3:22-23) and place it where you’ll see it daily – on your mirror, refrigerator, or phone background.

3. Reflect on Past Seasons

Spend time remembering how God has carried you through hard moments before. Journaling about these seasons can remind you He hasn’t changed.

4. Share Your Story

Tell a trusted friend or loved one about a time when God’s faithfulness brought you through a difficult moment in your grief journey. Speaking it out loud strengthens not only your faith, but everyone who hears your story.

5. Thank God Daily

End your day by writing down one thing you’re thankful for, no matter how small. Gratitude helps you see His faithful presence, even in your grief.

Reflection Questions

2-Which of these 5 steps feels like the easiest way for you to start noticing God’s faithfulness again?
